Drainage Water Management

Purpose:

To improve the soil environment and water quality by regulating water table and ground water flows to increase nutrient uptake in cropland.

Applicability:

• Areas where drainage is required for increased utilization of nutrients applied.
• The soil contains enough depth and permeability to allow installation of an effective and economically feasible system.
• The installation and operation of a water control structure should not impact adjacent fields of drainage systems.
